Hello, hello! Michelle here with a new Thursday Trend using Pink Paislee yumminess!
While searching for a trend to highlight this time, I flipped through a few scrap magazines, looked through some online galleries – I was still a little unsure about what trend to highlight until I pulled out my Paislee supplies and noticed the lovely fancy-edged Office Lingo paper….and then I looked over at my scrap table and saw the scalloped-edge scissors I’d recently pulled out from their hiding-place-of-retired-scrap-things sitting on my table. And then it hit me! Fancy edges are really hot right now! They’re being designed in the form of lovely papers, tags, and die cuts for us to use, and we’re pulling out those scissors that were so popular back when we started scrapping years ago, but using them in new ways to get the same lovely edgy look ourselves - they’re so cool right now!
So, letting the Paislee edges be my inspiration and armed with my scissors, I grabbed some pictures and thought I’d try to do a multitude of edge styles on my page this time. I used the scalloped edge Paislee paper as a template to trace a scalloped edge onto the side of my photo and then hand-cut out the shape; I also accented the scallops with some small round punches. I also used a smaller postage-stamp like edged scissor, as well as hand ripping/distressing/curling up the edges of my patterned paper circles. I loved the pink paper as my background, but it had a plain ol’ edge, so I used a scalloped edge paper to trace the same design onto its’ edges and fancy it up a little! Here’s the result of my edge craziness:

I used the “Casual Friday”, “Roundtable Scallop”, and Office Lingo Overlay from the Office Lingo collection, as well as the Office Lingo Clear stamps, Raspberry Holly Doodle Alphabet Stickers, and the “Umbrella Scallop” Spring Fling paper as my scallop template. Yum! And, yes, that is chubby little me way back in the ’80′s – I just had to scrap those pictures! They make me giggle everytime…
So be inspired by the wonderful Pink Paislee edges – add some to your pages, try it on your pictures! You’ll see why I love this trend so much!
Thanks for peeking, and happy day! And don’t forget about the Scrapfreak chat tonight! (See the post below)
