Inspired by a Live Pink member!

Hi all!  Today I’m here to show you some things that I made while inspired by one of our members in the Live Pink Gallery. If you are not familiar with Live Pink, it’s a great place to get inspiration from others using Pink Paislee products! I chose this frame by Mona Pendleton to inspire me:

What inspired me about it, you might ask?

First of all, it’s beautiful!! Second of all, I was inspired by the amazing embossed edges on the frame and the fun, carefree banner!

I dug into my Cuttlebug embossing folders and quickly got to work.

This is the first card I made:

I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder called Iron Works and ran my card through the Cuttlebug twice, once to get the bottom border embossed and then another time to emboss the top border, like the inspiration piece which had embossing around the edges of the design. I cut my own banner shapes from the Daily Junque – Junque paper and strung them on with Daily Junque twine! I used some Soiree stamps for the sentiment and stars.

For the second card, I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder called Measure for Measure 7″ Border and placed it in the center of my card.

I used the Daily Junque stamps (long border) and the Soiree stamps (banner and wording). The dimensional butterfly is created by punching 3 of them with my Martha Stewart punch with Daily Junque papers and layering them.

On the last card, I decided to try something new. I used the Soiree wood shape banner, inked it up first with Hawaiian Shores ink by Papertrey Ink.

Then I carefully ran it through my Cuttlebug machine layered over the white cardstock. I put a sheet of felt under the cardstock, to help it emboss better. The wood piece actually embossed my card and stamped it all at the same time!

Then I ran my card through the Cuttlebug two more times to emboss the stars (made two rows of stars). The stars are from the Measure for Measure set again by Provo Craft. I embossed the stars on an angle.

I added a punched star from the Soiree – Words paper, a banner sticker from the Soiree Flags, and stamped “birthday” with the Soiree stamps (pin by Maya Road and pearl by Melissa Frances).

Thanks so much for swinging by the Pink Paislee blog today!

Happy Dance: You Can Use Four Photos

Hello everyone! Karola here with another Lo and another personal fight to get 4 photos into 1 layout. But guess what? I LOVE it!

Until recently I had a lot of difficulties with the creation of multi-photos Lo’s, now I have found that a create with more than one or two pics gave me a lot of fun! Today I have a Lo with pictures of my daughter, captured during a walk in the late winter of this year. Rose loves to dance and so even during every walk we have another chance to see the show made by our little ballerina. This time I have photos of a vertical, so I decided to put them in a one horizontal line – this is the easiest and safe way to arrange several photos into one story.

In today’s Lo I combined the two collections – Butterfly Garden and the Daily Junque. I thought that doilies cut out from Butterfly Garden – Dew Drops paper and glued in many layers, and a few butterflies (biggest from Butterfly Garden – Butterfly Wings paper and small ones from Butterfly Garden – 6×6 Paper Pack) highlight the delicate and girlish theme of this Lo. Additional doilies I created using the fabulous doily clear stamp from the set Butterfly Garden – Impressions Clear Stamps.

Because there are a few darker accents on the pictures like jeans – perfect fit here arrows, which I cut out from the Daily Junque – Junque paper. Title I created using wooden letters - Daily Junque – Wood Alphabet, are fantastic, because we can add color on it in any way to fit as needed. I sprayed the letters by using Glimmer Mist – Tattered Leather, and I added on top of a little bit of pink acrylic paint.

Mix It Up!

Hello everyone! Karola here with another Mix It Up edition, this time I will show you how I combined two gorgeous (oh, so gorgeous!) collections – Butterfly Garden and Parisian Anthology!

It was a pleasant challenge for me – both of these collections have all those delicate and romantic elements that I love.

To match Parisian Anthology to the colors of the  Butterfly Garden I used Glimmer Mists. It’s very simple but effective way to combine colors.

In this card a main role play big flower made of Parisian Anthology Ruffled Darlings Ribbon Strips, and its center is one of the Butterfly Garden – Baubles. White Parisian Anthology paper I colored using Glimmer Mist – Mustard Seed.

The second card have much more soft colors, for its creation has inspired me Butterfly Garden – Dragonflies paper. I thought, light brown would be a great fit here, so I colored Parisian Anthology Darling paper using Chalkboard Glimmer Mist – Hot Chocolate. Brown is also Expressions Cushies Alphabets – Cocoa. As a beautiful addition I chose Butterfly Garden – Clear Pops butterflies.

I hope I was able to prove that both of these beautiful collections can be perfectly combined! I encourage you to play in various combinations and colors!

Designer Details: It’s the little things…

Hi Everyone – Piradee here and hope you’re having a wonderful weekend or had a super great one (depending on where you are)!!!     As for me, I’m wrapping up mine and some what getting ready to start my Monday (although, I’m so not a Monday person at all and it usually takes me around 2 cups of coffee before I make any sense either).   But thought I would first share a little something that I’ve been meaning to scrap about for a long while now – my 2011 scrappy resolutions!!

And to help me document my resolutions – I used the gorgeous Daily Junque collection and the fun coordinating embellishments – mini notes and ephemera to capture all the details and add that little something to polish off my layout.   I first started with one of the border clear stamps from the collection and stamped the two corners of my layout, before adding  abit of mist here and there (I used tattered angels – silver sugar).  I opted for the silvery gray mist color – as I wanted to add a bit of glimmer without calling too much attention (thus the color).

Also playing with the corners, I added bits and pieces of the pattern paper here and there to further emphasis the corners and also balance out the layout as I wanted to keep the rest clean and simple.

Then I focus on the little embellishments that I could add to the layout and also using the pattern sheets – I created this little dimensional butterfly by punching several sheets (at once) and then stapling all the punch outs together, to help give it that fluttering look/feel.

And here’s another close up of the details… having more fun with the ephemeras from the collection and just adore that little card with the saying “a little birdie told me”… how cute is that!  Also have you noticed all the details and patterns on the pattern papers themselves, there’s always something new for me as I use the pieces here and there… the blue patterns on the yellow paper and also on the pink ones, there’s a few different designs embedded in them. gorgeous!!!

Hopefully these little details have inspired you to doing a little bit of scrappy today and have some fun embellishing your layouts.

Background and Border Techniques {Misting}

Misting is going to be a new addition to the Pink Paislee Blog and I will be starting off with some fun Background and Border Techniques which I have used on my Spring Time Plaque.  I used the Soiree Collection, complimented by the Soiree Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist colors .

To create the background to my project I cut out some cardboard clouds and placed them onto some white cardstock I then used Blue Glimmer Mist and sprayed over the cardboard clouds.

Once the Glimmer Mist was dry I removed the cardboard clouds – here is a close up of the Clouds for the background to my project.

I then created 3 Bird House templates and cut strips of cardboard approx .5″ wide and 12″ long then I used double sided tape and stuck the strips to the Bird House starting from the bottom up.

I created different Misting Technique for the Bird Houses –  I used a waved border which I laid over the length of the cardboard strip, and then I sprayed with Glimmer Mist, it can get a little messy but it is a fun effect.

Here is a close up of the Bird House Finished, with embellishments added.

For the Second Bird House I first sprayed some white cardstock with Yellow Glimmer Mist and then I cut the strips out as you can see by the below photo.

The third Bird House was made by painting a line with the Glimmer Mist onto the length of the strip with a paint brush.

I then sprayed the waved borders which I had used in the first Bird House for the top and bottom of the Spring Time plaque and added some flowers and Yellow and White Cushies Alphabets.

Soiree Floral Pattern Paper
